Introduction

The Service Line - Children's Hospital is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate training as well. It consists of a group of dedicated full-time and part-time faculty. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of 122 beds, including 24 beds NICU, 8 beds PICU, 4 beds CICU, 16 beds SCU and sub-specialty areas for Paediatric Neurology, Cardiology, Surgery etc. along with round the clock fully trained paediatric medical and nursing staff.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • assist Head Nurse in day to day management of the unit teaching and mentoring novice staff ensuring quality care being delivered to patients
  • meet clinicians frequently to discuss patient care related issues
  • coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance quality of patient care
  • assess patient care and acuity trends, plan and manage unit and staffing with supplies, equipment and resources
  • demonstrate initiative to review concepts of Quality Improvement in Nursing Practice (QINP).

Requirements

You should have:
  • a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school with a valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
  • at least two years of relevant nursing experience
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Safe Medication Administration, Aseptic Techniques, I/V Cannulation, Tool Training and Facilitation Course
  • excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication and supervisory skills
  • ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
  • willingness to work in all three shifts (morning, evening and night).
