Job Details
The School of Physiology, Pharmacology & Neuroscience is seeking to enhance its educational capacity by recruiting a Teaching Fellow, with a focus on delivering outstanding teaching and contributing to the design and delivery of an excellent educational experience in the School. The role holder will be expected to teach across our BSc and MSci programmes in Pharmacology, Neuroscience and Physiological Science, as well as contributing to biomedical teaching on the Medical, Dental and Veterinary Science programmes. In particular, they will play a leading role in shaping a new suite of MSci programmes being offered by the School, which will involve developing and delivering skills-based units, focusing on innovation and communication, within the final year of our new MSci programmes. In addition, the role holder will be involved in the coordination and delivery of other educational initiatives in the School, such as the University of Bristol International Biomedical Sciences Lab Summer School, a residential three-week course that delivers world-class skills-based practical training.
We are looking to appoint an energetic and committed teacher who is dedicated to bringing out the best in all our students. Teaching will involve delivering lectures, group tutorials and workshops, leading practical classes and supervising undergraduate research projects. The role holder will act as a Unit Director with responsibility for organisation, quality control and assessment of units as well as making a significant contribution to course design, using innovative teaching methods and resources, and is likely to be involved in pedagogical research.
The School of Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience is at the forefront of innovative teaching methods, including eBiolabs and Human Patient Simulation and we are seeking a forward-thinking individual who is keen to utilise educational technology to enhance their teaching practise.
