The role

The successful applicant will support the Director of UQ's multidisciplinary cyber security initiative in all relevant aspects, including educational strategy, research strategy, marketing strategy, supervision of staff, operational aspects and business development. The coordination of internal and external stakeholders is an important aspect of the role. The successful applicant will stand in for the Director in all matters relevant to the initiative if the Director is absent. The position has a high services load which will reduce teaching and/or research related duties of the successful candidate.

The person

Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellence in computer science and/or electrical engineering research. You should have highly developed leadership, interpersonal, communication skills with proven experience in leading, developing, motivating and successfully managing teams and individual academics in a collegiate environment. Outstanding strategic skills including the ability to develop, articulate and sustain a shared vision is also a must.

The position is full time, continuing appointment at Academic Level D. The remuneration package will be in the range $141,261 - $155,627p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $165,276 - $182,084p.a.).
