Human Resources

The University of Queensland (UQ) ranks among the world's top universities and has educated and worked with outstanding people to deliver knowledge leadership for a better world. Across the University's 3 main campuses (St Lucia, Gatton and Herston), UQ's 6,700 staff and 52,000+ students deliver and experience unparalleled teaching, learning and research excellence that creates positive change globally.

UQ Human Resources is responsible for enabling achievement of the University's strategic ambitions through attracting and developing high performing staff, and delivers high quality advice and support to our clients on all aspects of HR and people matters.

HR is currently undergoing significant transformation (including new systems, specialist services, process review and redesign, and improved data and analytics capability) to become one of the leading HR functions in Australia, and is building a team of exceptional HR professionals to provide customer focused and contemporary solutions and services for our clients.

HR is seeking an exceptional individual to support the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and other senior HR leaders in an impactful administration support role.

The role

The position is responsible for supporting key leadership roles in HR. The role will support the CHRO and direct reports with general administration, office operations coordination and project support across different teams in HR. The role ensures the day-to-day operational requirements for the HR office are met, including effective diary and administration support.

This position will also deliver project support for the HR Transformation program of work, supporting multiple project leaders across HR, directed by the CHRO (or delegate). This may include scheduling of meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, presentations, coordinating change initiatives and workshops, timeline monitoring, venue bookings and catering. Other duties will include triaging queries from clients, ensuring compliance with University policy and procedures, and maintaining administrative processes within the University's financial system.

The person

To be successful in this role you should have strong administration experience supporting multiple senior leaders in a complex organisation. Confidentiality, honesty, and accountability are key qualities that will see you succeed in this position. You should enjoy interacting with people and solving problems to deliver exceptional customer service. Attention to detail should come naturally to you, together with a special expertise in priority management, and delivering outcomes in the right order for the right people.

Your approach to work will clearly demonstrate UQ's values, in particular your ability to think independently and creatively to perform in your role, alongside the constant drive to pursue excellence in how you deliver on objectives.

Ideally, you will possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, plus previous experience in a similar administration position. While your previous experience in using Oracle CRM and Unifi PeopleSoft financials would be highly regarded, it is not essential. The position will be located at the University's St Lucia Campus.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at HEW Level 5 until January 2020. The remuneration package will be in the range $67,607 - $75,506 per annum, plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5%.

Employees can take advantage of UQ's Sport Facilities , salary sacrificing options, on-campus childcare, discounted private health insurance, afforable parking, and many other benefits.

UQ values diversity and inclusion and actively encourages applications from those who bring diversity to the University. Our Diversity and Inclusion webpage contains further information and points of contact if you require additional support. Accessibility requirements and/or adjustments can be directed to recruitment@uq.edu.au .

You must have valid Australian work rights to apply for this role. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
