Lecturer

NewGeneration of Academics' Programme (nGAP)

The position is part of the nGAP initiative of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and comes with substantial support from the DHET. The appointment is alsosubject to the conditions as set by the DHET and must be read in conjunction withthe nGAP requirements of the DHET.

This vacancy requires an interest in and/or experience in the broad field of Mercantile Law, in particular Intellectual Property Law, including Internet Law and Data Protection.

Duties
  • Duties will be assigned in accordance with the phasing-in requirements of the nGAP initiative;
  • Undergraduate (and eventually) postgraduate teaching in Mercantile Law, specifically the broader field of Intellectual Property Law;
  • Developing and evaluating module material, aligned with the level of appointment;
  • Developing an active and productive research programme, including own postgraduate studies, as applicable;
  • Rendering service to the Department, Faculty and University, aligned with level of appointment.
