(HEO7) $86,382 to $96,659 per annum and employer contribution of 9.5% superannuation will apply

Fixed term contract maternity leave coverage until October 2020 (18 months)

The HR Advisor will work as part of the broader HR Advisory Portfolio group, (HR Service Centre, HR Advisors and Workplace Relations) to partner with the University to enable and support a culture of high engagement, commitment and performance of staff

The role is responsible for coaching leaders across the University (Faculties or Divisions) to effectively lead and manage their staff, acting as trusted advisor and undertaking performance / case management and change management initiatives.

Working under limited direction the HR Advisor provides human resource advice, support and guidance on a broad range of HR matters, including interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement , HR policies and procedures, employment legislation and relevant industry practice to assist people leaders in effectively managing their staff and achieving their strategic direction. The role will also support the delivery of key projects / initiatives across the University.

To be successful you will need:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience in the use of contemporary HR practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely expert HR advice including interpretation of enterprise agreements and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters of a complex nature.
  • Demonstrated experience in working and effectively communicating with people at all levels in a large organisation.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment, handling a diverse range of enquiries and projects.
