The Students' Health Service cares for approximately 21,000 students and their families.We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and efficient medical secretary to work within our General Office. Hours of work will be 1.15pm - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

This is a varied and interesting post based within a friendly and supportive team of staff who provide secretarial and administrative support to 14 GPs. In addition to generating correspondence, you will be handing incoming calls to the practice and assisting patients at our Office Enquiries counter. The role involves regular contact with patients, other University departments and a variety of secondary and tertiary care organisations.

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced environment and be able to perform well under pressure, maintaining a high standard of customer service at all times. We are looking for someone with previous secretarial experience who has a flexible approach and who is able to multi-task and to prioritise effectively. You must have fast, accurate word-processing skills and be confident using a variety of IT systems. Good communication skills, a friendly, confident manner and the ability to work as part of a team are also essential attributes.
