(Level B) $97,577 - $115,495 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply

Lecturer in Japanese Studies is a balanced academic position, with a demonstrated ability to teach Japanese language at tertiary level and a demonstrated ability to coordinate a variety of Japanese language courses

The successful candidate has to demonstrate evidence of a research track record in high-quality publication outlets, relative to opportunity, and of a future research strategy.

The School of Social Sciences comprises five Departments: Anthropology and Development Studies; Asian Studies; Geography, Environment and Population; Politics and International Relations; and Sociology, Criminology and Gender Studies. Combining a vibrant and innovative teaching environment with a strong research culture, the School offers an intellectually stimulating environment in which to work.

To be successful you will need:

• A PhD in any field of Japanese Studies.
• Native or near-native competence in both English and Japanese.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Japanese language at tertiary level.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate a variety of Japanese language courses, including online modules and in-country summer/winter schools.
• Evidence of research track record in high-quality publication outlets, relative to opportunity, and of a future research strategy.
