School of Political Science & International Studies

The School of Political Science & International Studies is at the forefront of teaching and research in political science, public policy, international relations, and peace and conflict studies in Australia. The School's academic teaching and research staff include internationally recognised scholars who are leaders in their research fields and award winners for innovation and excellence in teaching. The School hosts the Graduate Centre in Governance and International Affairs, the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect and one of the six worldwide Rotary Centres for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution.

The role

The position will contribute to teaching and research into political science in the School, and to the collegial life and governance of the School, as well as enhancing the School's engagements and academic profile with external stakeholders.

The person

Applicants must have a PhD in any area of political science, or a cognate discipline with preference given to Australian politics, or political ideas. Demonstrated knowledge in research methods is essential. You should have a demonstrated record of publishing research in political science in high quality, internationally recognised outlets. The ability to function as an effective and engaging teacher is also essential.

Remuneration

This is a full-time continuing appointment at Academic level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $95,771 - $113,728 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $112,052 - $133,061 p.a.).
