The Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) at The University of Queensland provides an information environment that supports the teaching, learning, research and engagement objectives of the University and contributes positively to the student experience and the University's reputation, in line with our values of excellence, creativity, respect, supporting others, diversity, honesty and accountability. It comprises three major sections located across the University's campuses: Academic Services, Enterprise Support and University Networks. Also located within ITS is the internationally recognised network security group, AusCERT, which provides internet security services throughout Australia and New Zealand. ITS manage core networks not only for the whole of The University of Queensland but also works with other Queensland universities to manage access to the national university network (AARNet). ITS also operates Supercomputers and many of the University's largest servers.

About This Opportunity

The position will play a key role in transformational initiatives at UQ. The position provides a high level of analysis, design, and support for key data governance and data architecture activities within the University. The position is also responsible for leading and mentoring other analytical and data modelling staff in projects to deliver sophisticated data modelling solutions to support many data intensive initiatives.

Our Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience working on data analysis and modelling projects, including the investigation and analysis of key data sets and their relationship with business functions. They will interact confidently and effectively with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, at all levels of seniority across the university. They will demonstrate the ability to provide leadership and mentoring to other data modellers, developers, business analysts or technical engineers. Experience with database development, especially database design in an agile software environment, will be valued. Applicants should possess qualifications in relevant disciplines.

What We Can Offer

This is a fixed term position for 2 years at HEW level 8.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $ 96,466 - $ 108,318, plus super of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $ 112.865 - $ 127,424 p.a.)
