University of Bristol is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Faculty of Engineering as a Teaching Technician at Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL).

Working as part of Soft Robotics group and with the technicians at BRL and the Faculty, the role holder will provide essential laboratory support for the running of the soft robotic laboratory and the research of the group.

Preferably you should have experience of working in a laboratory research environment, where 3d design, fabrication and experimentation is used. You will also have an enthusiasm for research, and a desire to provide high quality technical support for research purposes.

You will be supporting a range of research programmes, with the opportunity to expand your knowledge of techniques and contribute to the smooth running of laboratories. Duties will include equipment setup and maintenance, preparing experimental systems, design and fabrication and laboratory management of equipment and health and safety.

You should also demonstrate organisational and administrative skills, be efficient and adaptable and used to working in a busy dynamic laboratory environment. The ability to work as part of a team, prioritise effectively and work to meet research deadlines is essential.
