Student Affairs

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) (DVCA) is a member of UQ's senior executive, and is responsible for the University's commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning, operational, corporate, and pastoral support within the student experience.

The Student Affairs Division falls within the DVCA portfolio, and is a key driver in enhancing the UQ student experience, student retention, success, and employability. It has two operational arms: the Student Services Directorate, and the Student Employability Centre . The Division also manages the University's day-to-day relationship with UQU , and student accommodation providers, and works with UQ Health Care to ensure medical service provision for students.

The Student Employability Centre coordinates and promotes a range of services, activities, and initiatives that enhance student employability at UQ.

The Student Services Directorate provides a range of services and support functions that enhance the student experience and assist student success.

About This Opportunity

Influence improvements in system and process design within the Student Affairs team. Develop improvements to the Student experience through identifying trends and opportunities for growth and contribute to the development of annual divisional performance metrics reporting, through analysis of Student data using Excel, Business Objects and Tableau data management tools.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus , renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment - you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

As the successful candidate, you will hold a tertiary degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or another relevant field. Experience in a similar position is required, including experience compiling and manipulating complex data sets. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to translate quantitative data analysis into qualitative conclusions and advice. Experience in using SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau or similar Business Intelligence and Data Analysis tools is required.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time continuing position at HEW level 7.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $85,222 - $93,085 plus super of up to 17% and recreation leave loading of 17.5%.
