Job Details
A Research Associate position (open ended with fixed funding for 24 months) is available in the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies, University of Bristol. The successful applicant will work on the European Music Festivals, Public Spaces, and Cultural Diversity (FestiVersities) project, funded by the HERA (Humanities in the European Research Area) Joint Research Programme - Public Spaces. The project investigates across multiple research sites the meaning of the festival for organisers, festival workers, performers, audiences and the community more broadly. Methods of data collection include participant observation, surveys and research interviews.
The successful applicant will be responsible for arranging and conducting qualitative research at British festivals, preparing the data and for contributing to its analysis and co-authoring research reports and papers arising from the project.
A start date of 1 November 2019 would be ideal. Closing date for applications is at midnight on Monday 17 June 2019 and interviews are likely to take place week commencing 22 July 2019.
