Do you hold a PhD in a Work and Employment related discipline (including Human Resource Management, Industrial or Employment relations, Sociology of Work, Occupational or Organisational Psychology)?

Do you have knowledge of qualitative and ethnographic research methodologies?

We have an opportunity for you to develop your career in industry by leading a high-profile, strategically important project from start to finish. Through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), you will be working in partnership with Lowell Financial Ltd. and Leeds University Business School to increase workplace productivity by developing Human Resources (HR) systems and tools to enhance employee health and wellbeing support.Lowell Financial Ltd is a financial services company specialising in credit management services. It is one of the UK's top three credit management agencies in a highly regulated industry. Lowell is constantly looking to innovate and make step changes in their Human Resources Management tools to facilitate employee welfare support. Through this KTP, the partnership intends to optimise existing and develop new HRM capabilities that will address productivity challenges and mitigate the effects of emotional labour on employee mental wellbeing. You will research, develop and implement new HRM tools and strategies that will address productivity challenges caused by emotional labour and consequent mental health problems in the workplace.

You will be based at the company premises in Leeds, but will be employed by the University of Leeds for the duration of the project, a fixed period of 12 months. You will also be required to spend some time at the University. Members of Leeds University Business School, including the Centre for Employment Relations, Innovation and Change will provide academic and technical support to you throughout the project. You will have access to a bespoke training and development package worth £2,000 to be spent according to your needs and the project's requirements, enabling you to work effectively on your KTP project and to plan for your future career. You will also attend two weeks of residential KTP training to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to complete the project successfully, for which time is allocated and funding provided.
