Job Details
The University of Bristol's Research and Enterprise Development Division has established a team of programme managers whose primary function is to drive forward university-strategic initiatives and activities that deliver to the university's research and related-aspirations. A pro-active and strategically-minded individual with good business acumen and strong leadership skills is sought. A good understanding and appreciation of both industrial and academic cultures and environments is essential, as are strong project and programme management skills, experience of research and its management and/or commercial exploitation, and good collaborative relationship-building skills. The successful individual will be highly motivated and must be capable of working fully independently as well as part of a team. Programme Managers operate at the interface of academia, business, government and administration - typically at a high level - and must manage relations across and within these environments, hence must be a credible operator within them all.
Digital Health is a current specific research priority and experience/background in health and care or experience of collaboration with NHS and Local Authority partners would be an advantage.
You should have a relevant degree (or equivalent qualification or professional experience) and business development or funder experience, including proven experience of preparation of business plans and applications for large funding opportunities. You will be a self-starter, a good strategic thinker, and be able to respond effectively to short deadlines. A PhD or MBA would be a bonus.
The closing date for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday 9th June 2019.
