ISolutions at the University of Southampton, are looking to recruit a 14 month, 0.6 FTE( 21 Hours) fixed term maternity contract Learning Facilitator to join their IT Training & Development Team.

ISolutions is one of the largest departments within the University's Professional Services Group and we provide a broad and complex range of ICT services to support our diverse user community of more than 25,000 students and over 6,400 University staff, within an ITIL based quality assurance environment.

About the role

Responsible to the IT Training and Development Manager and working closely with the IT Training and Development Team you will contribute to day to day operational duties and deliver a range of face to face training solutions.

You will Scope, design and facilitate IT training and support for key stakeholders, project managers and teams across the University.

Through partnerships with colleagues within the business, including Subject Matter Experts, you will design and deliver quality, sustainable support/learning materials for corporate systems and Office 365.

About you

As a qualified IT Learning and Development professional or with appropriate expertise, you're used to successfully facilitating groups at all levels using a broad range of approaches, with experience of E learning design, delivery and evaluation.

We are looking for someone who understands how people work and how they learn systems and IT in the work environment. A person who is able to bring this thinking to help develop a range of blended learning solutions.

Your excellent planning and organisational skills will support an ability to prioritise multiple projects and tasks. You will need to be highly effective in building relationships and use exceptional communication skills to quickly gain the confidence of a variety of stakeholders.

Our approach is for our Learning facilitators to work collaboratively with our embedded Learning designers, Project managers and Professional Services teams they support.

Assisting them with design, development and then facilitate innovative and effective learning resources which will influence the shape of IT learning and development across the organisation.

The key challenges will be competing priorities for developing learning resources, engaging with a diverse user community and understanding their priorities and constraints.

We are particularly interested to meet candidates:
  • with experience of facilitating, developing and delivering systems and IT online and self-paced learning solutions using eLearning software packages
  • who are able to build first class relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation
  • used to working as a learning consultant
  • with experience of using or training office 365
  • with excellent training needs analysis skills
  • with experience of using content management systems
  • who have an understanding of EU accessibility guidelines
