About This Opportunity

The Applicant will be expected to teach in the School's Initial Teacher Education primary programs (undergraduate and Masters' levels) and at least one field of study in the postgraduate programs in areas relevant to their expertise. The successful appointee will have the capacity to pursue a strong and productive program of research relevant to the School's existing and emerging research priorities ( https://education.uq.edu.au/research ) and to supervise research students. The appointee will be expected to undertake administration, service, and leadership roles commensurate with their level of appointment. The Ideal candidate

Applicants should possess a PhD with tertiary studies in Literacy with an emphasis on children's literature and literacy learning support and show evidence of innovative teaching contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degree programs.

You should have a national or international research reputation with strong networks to leverage to assist in developing a world class program of research with demonstrated impact. You should demonstrate your ability to contribute to research or lead significant teams, attract significant external funding, and capacity to work collaboratively across discipline boundaries. You should be an experienced and engaging teacher and have mastery of current pedagogy in education.

What We Can Offer

The position is full time, continuing appointment at Academic Level D. The remuneration package will be in the range $141,261 - $155,627p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $165,276 - $182,084p.a.).

Our Selection Process

As part of the Selection Process, applicants shortlisted for interview may be required to present a research and/or teaching seminar to members of the school community prior to their scheduled interview. Research and/or teaching seminars topics will be provided with adequate notice to shortlisted candidates.
