Job Details

A post-doctoral position in recombinant vaccine research to combat emerging infectious disease is available immediately at the cutting-edge Bristol Synthetic Biology Centre, BrisSynBio, a leading UK and international centre of excellence.

As part of a dynamic team, the post-doc will combine state-of-the-art baculoviral protein production (MultiBac) with protein biochemistry, structural biology (X-ray, EM) and imaging, to develop and roll-out next-generation vaccine candidates for treating infectious disease (Zika, Dengue, Rabies...).

Experience with recombinant protein production (ideally baculovirus), molecular biology and protein biochemistry is essential, knowledge of biophysics and structural techniques is desirable. Experience with protein-based vaccine candidates is a plus.

Applicants should hold, or expect to hold shortly, a PhD in biochemistry, synthetic biology, molecular biology, recombinant vaccine research or a related subject.

The Research Associate will be based in the Berger laboratory in a highly collaborative setup in the new EPSRC Innovative Vaccine Manufacturing Hub consortium (lead by Imperial College). We are seeking to fill the post as soon as possible.
