Duties and responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Industrial Psychology.
  • Conduct high-level research and produce research outputs for publication in accredited journals.
  • Participate actively in Community service.
  • Ensure active involvement in research activities of the Faculty.
  • Supervise and provide consultation sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Contribute to research coordination and perform administrative task related to the discipline.

Inherent requirements:

Lecturer
  • Master's degree in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources Management.
  • Proven experience in delivery of poster or oral presentations at conference or equivalent activities.
  • Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have potential to be converted or submitted for publication, ideally in an accredited journal.
  • A good academic record.

Senior Lecturer
  • PhD in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources Management.
  • Proven experience in the presentation of papers/ posters at national scholarly conference.
  • Proven national recognition for specialist expertise and research in a specific area of scholarship.
  • An NRF rating or demonstrate potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
  • Proven experience in supervision of graduate masters` students.
  • A proven research record of relevant publications in national and international accredited journals.
  • Proven experience of service as an active member of national or international scholarly society or committee or agency concern with research at Higher Education levels.

Required competencies:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to function well in the University's richly diverse working environment.
  • Good research skills and writing abilities.
  • Good computer literacy skills.
  • Ethical reasoning skills.
  • The ability to work in a team with colleagues within the Faculty.

Recommendations:

Lecturer
  • Registered as an Industrial Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Registered with the South African Board of People Practices (SABPP).
  • Willingness to enrol for a doctoral degree in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources Management at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment.
  • Proven research record of relevant publications in national accredited journals.

Senior Lecturer
  • Registered as an Industrial Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Registered with the South African Board of People Practices (SABPP).

Salary:

The salary scale is available on request.
