Job Details
The Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) provides leadership and expertise in strategic marketing and branding to position The University of Queensland as a world-class, research-intensive university.
We advise on best practice marketing and communication, and work in partnership with faculties, schools, centres and institutes to enhance the University's reputation and to actively engage the wider UQ community locally, nationally and internationally.
About This Opportunity
Leading the University's Central Corporate Communication team, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of integrated corporate communication plans that enhance and protect The University of Queensland's reputation and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. This position is senior within the OMC organisational structure, as such the Corporate Communication Manager will work closely with other OMC Managers and Senior Executives across the University.
This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located close to Brisbane's city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment - you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.
Our Ideal Candidate
With relevant qualifications and extensive experience in communication or corporate/PR roles, you'll have demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams and driving high performing, service-orientated cultures. Your ability to develop and implement integrated communication strategies that align with the organisation's strategic priorities will be strong, plus a proven ability to manage reputation issues and mitigate risk. You'll work well to tight deadlines, have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary stakeholders, both internally and externally.
You must have ongoing unrestricted work rights in Australia to apply for this opportunity.
We value diversity and inclusion, and actively encourage applications from those who bring diversity to the University. Our Diversity and Inclusion webpage contains further information if you require additional support. Accessibility requirements and/or adjustments can be directed to recruitment@uq.edu.au .
What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, permanent position. Salary will be negotiable for the successful candidate plus superannuation of 17% and recreation leave loading of 17.5%.
You will be able to take advantage of UQ Sport Facilities, salary sacrificing options, on-campus childcare, discounted private health insurance, cheap parking, development programs and many other benefits.
