The School of Mathematics and Physics is part of the Faculty of Science at the University of Queensland. It is the leading provider of tertiary physics, mathematics and statistics education in Queensland. Undergraduate programs offered are BMath, BSc and BSc with Honours, BAdvSci BA and BA with Honours. Coursework degrees (MSc, MDataSc, MFinMath) and research degrees (MPhil and PhD) are offered at postgraduate level.

The School is internationally recognised for its research excellence and hosts a number of first class research centres. Research is carried out at the cutting edge across a broad spectrum of areas in physics, mathematics and statistics.

About This Opportunity

The successful appointee will support the School by providing administrative support for several projects. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of several projects key to School strategic and operational goals in 2019. The incumbent will provide effective and efficient project management and process development to academic and professional staff project leads, ultimately in support of the teaching and research activities of the School of Mathematics and Physics.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Our Ideal Candidate

Applicants should have a degree with relevant experience, or a combination of relevant experience and education/training. You should have a commitment to contributing to the success of teaching and research at UQ through high quality administrative support. The successful applicant should have developed organisational and problem-solving skills in an administrative environment and high level of interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.

What We Can Offer

This is a part-time, fixed term position at HEW level 6.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,400 - $83,267 pro-rata plus super of up to 9.5% and recreation leave loading of 17.5%.
