The University of Southampton is home to the Wessex Institute which oversees a number of research funding programmes, including those that are managed by NETSCC on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

A vacancy has arisen for a Research Awards Manager within the Finance Team based at Chilworth. You will work within the Finance Team supporting the Senior Finance Managers with the financial and contractual aspects of new research funding applications and ongoing research projects, providing advice to both internal and external stakeholders on NIHR funding rules and other NIHR guidance.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with proven organisational skills and confident using the MS Office suite, particularly Excel. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to constantly re-evaluate and re-prioritise your workload to reflect the ever-changing needs of a busy team environment.

You will need to be able to work well as part of a team which is committed to adding maximum value to the management of health and social care research across the globe.
