Applications are sought for a post-doctoral research fellow to study molecular mechanisms in B cell malignancies including chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). The project will investigate functional cross-talk between the B-cell receptor and the tumour microenvironment in tumor B cell and its relevance for new signaling inhibitors. The project is led by Dr Andrew Steele, Prof Jonathan Strefford and Professor Graham Packham and is part of an extensive programme of CLL research in Southampton spanning in vitro and in vivo studies, genetics, signalling pathways and novel therapeutics.

The successful applicant will need to have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Cancer Biology and/or intracellular signalling. A detailed understanding and knowledge of B cell malignancied is also essential.

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

The position is funded by Cancer Research UK and will be located in the Cancer Sciences School at Southampton General Hospital Campus. This full-time post is initially available until 31st March 2022.
