A position is available in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Southampton for a Research Fellow. The position is based at Southampton General Hospital within the Public Health Group in the School of Primary Care and Population Sciences, and is funded by Kidney Research UK. The post holder will work on a research project entitled: Ethnic differences in kidney size in children, the role of kidney size: the Born in Bradford Cohort Renal Study. Working within a team, the post holder will primarily be responsible for planning, conducting and delivering high quality research aligned to a specified programme of research.

You will be educated to degree level and must have either a PhD in a health or social science field (e.g. sociology, psychology) or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g. MSc) in a health or social science field plus relevant professional experience. Previous experience of working on health-related studies utilising quantitative data analysis techniques is essential. Previous experience of using Stata for statistical data analysis and modelling is desirable. You will possess excellent organisational, communication and IT skills, and must have experience of effectively working as part of a team. It is desirable that you have a track-record of research outputs (e.g. publications, presentations, thesis/dissertation, public engagement activities).

This post is fulltime for a period of 18 months and is available from the 16th September 2019.
