Job Details
This project is funded by 'Geosciences BC' and provides an excellent platform for networking and finding future employment in this sector. The Ores and Mineralization Group in the School of Earth and Environment has gained research funding from Geoscience BC, Canada to compile an Atlas of gold compositions in the Province. The aim of the project is to provide a database which forms a novel resource for future gold and copper exploration. The funding includes a 7 month fixed term post for a research assistant to undertake the analytical component of the project and contribute to project development.
You will have a demonstrable interest in economic geology, evidenced by experiences in your undergraduate, postgraduate or industrial background and will be seeking to further your career in this sector. The role provides an unrivalled opportunity to gain develop a detailed understanding of gold - bearing mineralization in British Columbia, currently an area of active exploration. You will gain experience of writing interim project reports and will present a poster at the Vancouver Exploration Roundup at the end of your term. Attendance at this conference provides a superb platform for networking in an industry in which you will have unique expertise.
