The Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) aims to tackle the growing international problem of food waste by reducing food waste throughout the supply chain, transforming unavoidable waste into innovative high-value co-products, and engaging with industry and consumers to deliver behavioural change. Program 2: Transforming Waste Resources is led by the University of Queensland to deliver innovative new food products from surplus food, health benefits from bioactives and functional foods. The Program aims to deliver at least 87 GL of water savings through recovery and reuse, at least 30M tonnes in reduced food waste, 5,200 jobs (direct and indirect), most in rural areas, $600M reduction of waste produce and waste handling costs and a saving of at least 44M tonnes of greenhouse gases emitted over 10 years.

About This Opportunity

Working closely with the Program Leader (Fight Food Waste CRC), the Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, administration, and reporting of transformative projects and initiatives which are aligned with and fundamental to the success of the Fight Food Waste CRC. By applying fit-for-purpose methodologies and tools, and cultivating effective working relationships with a range of Program stakeholders, the Program Coordinator will support the preparation, submission, and oversight of a series of projects under the Transforming Waste Resources Program of the Fight Food Waste CRC.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Applicants should possess qualifications in relevant disciplines. You should also have strong skills/experience in project or program management, excellent analysis and organisational skills, the ability to foster strong collaborative relationships, and the capacity to engage productively with internal and external stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds.

What We Can Offer

This is a part-time, fixed term position at HEW level 6.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,400 - $83,267, plus super of up to 17% and recreation leave loading of 17.5%.
