Supplier Quality Engineer - Medical Devices - Scenic location - Switzerland

Our client is a market leader in Life science research and diagnostic solutions, focusing on innovative products to provide more efficient yet personalised health care solutions. With their HQ in German Switzerland, and additional facilities in the USA and Austria, all of whom passed FDA inspections with flying colours, they are keen to maintain and improve their high level of Quality as the Business grows.
At the top of their list is a Supplier Quality Engineer to focus on Quality in Supply Chain and improving the quality of suppliers during production transfer and throughout the life cycle of our products.

This means:
* Production process development, control and optimisation both on site and off site at supplier sites
* Continuous improvement of quality among suppliers
* Support to suppliers and Purchasing worldwide, with travel expected
* Assessment of technical and production processes, changes, and their feasibility
* Design Transfer of new products to production
* Planning and engineering of production and test equipment

Typically, a mechanical background is a good basis for such a role, together with additional knowledge and experience in production engineering, production process design and logistics, developed while working in the Medical Devices or similar tightly regulated industry (Chemical, pharmaceutical, at a stretch also aerospace and automotive). Experience in supplier quality development and lean management is needed.
English (corporate language) and German are both useful in this role.
