Qualified Social Worker - FGM Centre - North West London
Salary: £23,000 - £30,000 per annum
This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the National FGM Centre. Working across the borough based near Brent, you will be a key part of achieving the objectives of the National FGM Centre.
The National FGM Centre work alongside the Local Authority to prevent and tackle female genital mutilation (FGM) and other harmful practices such as breast ironing/flattening and abuse linked to faith or belief. The service is also working to deliver a system change in social work services for girls affected by female genital mutilation and their families, working with statutory agencies, government departments and local community organisations.
You will have a manageable caseload with high quality support from your manager and our specialist team. Specialist training to build knowledge will be provided. You will also be given the opportunity to give support in the delivery of training.
You will be based in a local authority in a London Borough but you will be expected to cover for colleagues in other areas according to service need. This means you must be willing to travel regularly in line with service requirements.
To be considered for this post you should have extensive Child Protection experience.
