Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out teaching and research in Computer Science and related topics?

Do you have an excellent research record and proven success obtaining funding?

Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

As Lecturer, you will carry out research, teaching and management within the school, faculty and university and contribute to academic leadership in the field of Computer Science with specific emphasis on our Joint School Programme with Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, China.Undergraduate students at the Joint School study 4-year Bachelor degrees, with a common first year that focuses on core study skills and knowledge in English (including development of language skills and technical skills in mathematics and physics). All study and all teaching and assessment is in English, mirroring the Leeds' syllabus for each degree programme, supplemented by additional material to ensure that requirements for the relevant SWJTU degree are also met. This post will be part of the University's flying faculty staff, delivering the teaching in China in short intensive blocks (usually 2 weeks), which means that you will be expected to spend some of the year (typically 4 to 6 weeks in a calendar year) in Chengdu, working at the Joint School. The majority of time will be based at the University of Leeds. You will hold an undergraduate degree and PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, or a related discipline and have a specialism that demonstrably aligns with at least one of the School's existing research themes being Algorithms and Complexity; Applied Computing in Biology, Medicine and Health; Artificial Intelligence; Computational Science and Engineering; Distributed Systems and Services.
