Job Details

My client who is a leading supplier to the graphics market, adhesives, speciality coatings, and synthetic rubber industries is looking for the right individuals to join its Innovation team.

This pioneer would come up with new technologies, research and develop new products, convert business development opportunities into new products and prototype innovations to drive long term business growth.

The scope of the Innovation organization includes 1) leveraging advantaged chemicals availability and usage in new markets and 2) the development of new markets, new technologies or new value offerings to deliver exceptional and sustainable growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The main responsibility of the Application Scientist will be to investigate new innovative materials and find unique applications by connecting physical/chemical characteristics of polymers with performance in the end use.
  • Knowledge of typical characterization techniques including DSC, DMTA, GPC, FTIR, NMR is required.
  • Besides, experience in the process such as compounding, extrusion, injection moulding, 3Dprinting is highly desirable.
  • The Innovation Application Scientist will actively contribute to ideation and development of the intellectual property, make recommendations for additional technology investments.
  • Also, it is within the responsibilities to identify gaps and solve problems between internal capabilities and new product's requirements.

Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Polymer Science Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
  • Experience in Polymer Processing and Characterization is required.
  • Experience in a product development role is preferable.
  • Experience with creative problem-solving techniques such as TRIZ/KT is desirable.
  • Good English oral and written communication skills are required.
