The Faculty of Environment and Natural Sciences of Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg invites applications for a joint professorship with the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF).

The successful candidate is expected to conduct innovative research in the field of environmental data sciences including modern research data management as well as a close link to environmental modelling activities. A profound understanding will be required in applying and developing advanced data science techniques, such as machine learning, deep learning, pattern recognition, non-linear systems analysis, to complex structured or unstructured data from environmental, geo-, biological and/or agricultural sciences in a highly interdisciplinary context.

The position will be located at ZALF in Müncheberg, close to Berlin. The candidate will become co-head of the Research Platform Data at ZALF. The joint professorship will be filled under the Jülich Model, with a teaching obligation of 2 hours per week and semester at the BTU, generally in English and German language.
