The Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication) is the largest undergraduate program within the School of Communication & Design and is offered at both our Saigon South and Hanoi City campuses. The program comprises strands in advertising, public relations and media/communication/cultural studies. Such is the quality of our students that RMIT was awarded the 'Most Winning University' award at the Vietnam Young Lions Competition 2019. Role and responsibilities

The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for the Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication) program offered by RMIT Vietnam. The appointee will line manage academic staff as required and will work closely with the Head of Department, Communication. The scope of responsibilities includes teaching and learning activities, curriculum development and quality assurance, timetabling, student experience, resource planning, program promotion, industry engagement, staff workload planning and professional development review. The appointee will contribute to the strategic direction of the School of Communication & Design by working collaboratively with other members of the School's Leadership team. This is an exciting position in a dynamic teaching-focused environment and will suit a flexible, experienced team leader with significant professional experience in the advertising, PR, integrated and/or social sectors alongside a track-record of achievement in program management, teaching and research.

It is anticipated that an appointment will be made to either Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level depending upon national and international achievements in teaching and research.

Key selection criteria
  • PhD or equivalent relevant doctoral qualification from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum of five years' teaching experience of relevant programs/courses at undergraduate level.
  • Senior professional experience in the advertising/public relations/communication/social media sector or equivalent.
  • Appointment to Senior Lecturer (level C): emerging nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets. Demonstrated ability to attract external research funds.
  • Appointment to Associate Professor (level D): recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets. Evidence of successfully securing competitive research income. Evidence of leading scholarly development, research teams/centres.
  • Extensive experience coordinating large courses and preparation and delivery of undergraduate programs.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage academic and professional teams and contribute to a collaborative and productive workplace.
  • Demonstrated range of skills relating to the conceptualisation, execution and evaluation of courses, including the capability and competence to teach a range of program-relevant courses


Please note

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS 7.0 (with no competency less than 6.5)
Non-Vietnamese candidates must also meet the requirements of the Vietnamese Work Permit process.
