RMIT Vietnam, an entity of RMIT University, has campuses in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi since 2001. We provide internationally recognised, high-quality, education and professional training for students, clients and the community, and assist in the development of human resources capability in Vietnam and the region by hosting students from Australia and many other countries.
The role and key responsibilities
The Manager, Vietnam Research Services, leads the Research Services team, and is responsible for supporting RMIT Vietnam's research activities through a range of core services including:
The Manager, Vietnam Research Services, is required to build a strong service culture and work collaboratively with Heads of Schools and Research and Innovation (R&I) Executive in the development and implementation of the Vietnam research strategy, development of research capability, and development of research collaborations and networks across RMIT Vietnam and with local, national and global, internal and external partners. The implementation and oversight of related University policy is also a key responsibility of the role. The role partners with key stakeholders in R&I Melbourne and Barcelona to drive and support research opportunities, research partnerships, research proposals, research integrity, ethics and research training services.

- Grants Management - research funding opportunities, grants development and pre and post award activities
- Research Partnerships - end user engagement and collaboration
- Research Integrity and Ethics - compliance with the Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, other codes and legislative compliance; research ethics; and governance
- Research reporting
- Research programs and internal schemes
The Manager, Vietnam Research Services, is required to build a strong service culture and work collaboratively with Heads of Schools and Research and Innovation (R&I) Executive in the development and implementation of the Vietnam research strategy, development of research capability, and development of research collaborations and networks across RMIT Vietnam and with local, national and global, internal and external partners. Key selection criteria
- A relevant doctoral degree plus extensive relevant research management experience in a university or research institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary research and research training management practices and delivery of research support services, preferably in an international setting.
- A proven track record in leading, motivating and developing a high-performing team providing excellent customer service and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategies to build and improve the quality and quantity of research proposals for submission including designing and delivering initiatives and professional development programs.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, external bodies, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.
