About This Opportunity

As the Accountant you will provide accurate, timely and professional accounting and other support to the accounting and external reporting services of the Contract & Grants Accounting Section within Finance & Business Services. You will prepare financial statements and acquittals and maintain the Contract, Projects and Award modules in the UniFi finance system. You will liaise with academics, finance officers and administrative staff across the university as well as external granting bodies to assist in matters relating to the accounting requirements of projects in their area of responsibility.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus , renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Our Ideal Candidate

You will have a degree (preferably in Commerce or Business) with substantial relevant experience or you will hold membership with a professional accounting body (e.g., CPA/ICA) or have a postgraduate degree in Commerce. You will have experience preparing financial reports, performing reconciliations and in the use of accounting software to extract data and prepare reports. You will be accountable, innovative and have good interpersonal and written skills including effective liaison and consultative skills. Experience working in the tertiary education sector and familiarity with contracts and legal agreements would be an advantage.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW level 7.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $85,222 - $93,085 plus 17% super. The total FTE package will be in the range $99,710 - $108,910.
