Job Details

We are looking to appoint a full time Laboratory Technician to support new early phase clinical trials and other clinical trials or research studies with a focus on immunological monitoring and cellular pathology techniques. You will have relevant laboratory experience in a responsible role, display a high level of motivation and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team as well as independently. The role is funded by the Centre for Drug Development (CDD) at Cancer Research UK.

The post holder will be part of the Southampton ECMC based in the WISH laboratory, University Hospital Southampton.

You will be required to process a range of patient samples for storage, as well as for fresh or batched analysis within a highly quality controlled system, utilising immunomonitoring and immunohistochemical techniques. You will be required to comply with meticulous record keeping and database management for all processes undertaken, as well as fully comply with requirements of GCP for laboratories. Training will be provided where necessary. There will be the opportunity to work with other team members carrying out immunomonitoring on clinical trial samples performing flow cytometry, ELISA and ELISpot assays and immunohistochemistry assays.

You will require a good understanding of the current health and safety regulations, and must undergo occupational health clearance for the job role.

The appointment is full time, fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance.
