Senior Marketing and Communications Officer

The University of Queensland Advancement engages a large community of alumni and other constituents who are located both in Australia and around the world. Advancement leads the University's significant fundraising efforts that have positively impacted the areas of empowering student success, transforming teaching and learning, and driving discovery and impact. In 2017 the University launched its first comprehensive and institution-wide philanthropic initiative; 'Not If, When - The Campaign to Create Change'.

About This Opportunity

The Senior Marketing & Communications Officer will be responsible for a wide range of marketing and communications activities in support of the University's Advancement initiatives. Focusing on alumni achievement and philanthropy, the successful applicant will lead the creation of written content, such as feature articles, news items, media releases and speeches. Liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, the Senior Marketing & Communications will contribute to the strategy and deliver of a wide range of digital initiatives and upcoming major philanthropic projects.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus , renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located close to Brisbane's city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment - you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

You'll have demonstrated and extensive experience in marketing, communications and public relations, with a undergraduate qualification to back that up. Experience within the tertiary education environment and/or philanthropy will be highly advantageous, but not essential, as our focus is on finding a candidate with experience in the production of high quality marketing and communications materials, with a knack for generating publicity. Your experience in utilising digital platforms to the best of their ability will be vital, with knowledge of Vision6 preferable.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term (12 months) position at HEW level 7.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $85,222 - $93,085, plus super of up to 9.5%. The total FTE package will be in the range $93,318 - $101,928.
