Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH)

SQRH at The University of Queensland (UQ) supports nursing, midwifery, allied health students and health professionals to develop a high quality and highly skilled workforce across regional, rural and remote Southern Queensland.

Funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health as a University Department of Rural Health. Funding is tied to a contract between UQ and the Commonwealth Department of Health under the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program (RHMT).

About This Opportunity

SQRH team are seeking a part time person to coordinate activities to support students to integrate into the communities where nursing, midwifery and allied health students are undertaking clinical placements across the South West Queensland region.

Located in Charleville, the Student Support Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and administering all non-clinical student support aspects of clinical placements in relevant disciplines including accommodation management. The position will work alongside clinical educators and other SQRH staff to achieve an optimal working environment for students. The position plays a key role in supporting students in communities across the South West Queensland region, thereby ensuring students are provided with a quality rural experience.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Diploma level qualification and at least two (2) years subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and / or education/training.
  • High level of experience in administration procedures in a health, education or relevant sector
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment using initiative, judgement and discretion to resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational skills, including planning, information management, records management, and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to maintain effective relationships with diverse groups within and external to SQRH.

What We Can Offer

This is a part time fixed term position until 31 December 2020 at HEW Level 5

The remuneration package will be in the range $67,608.41 to $75,506.82 p.a pro rata plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17.0% (total package will be in the range $79,101.84 to $88,342.98 p.a pro rata)
