Requirements:

Professor
  • A PhD in Psychology or closely related field.
  • Extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels required including at Masters and PhD levels.
  • Experience in teaching and clinically supervising in the disciplinary areas of psychological assessment and/or intervention.
  • Research supervision of Masters and PhD degrees to completion required.
  • Very good to outstanding research track record.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Counselling Psychologist with at least 3 years of post-registration experience is a requirement.

Associate Professor
  • A PhD in Psychology or closely related field.
  • Considerable teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels required including at Masters and PhD levels.
  • Experience in teaching and clinically supervising in the disciplinary areas of psychological assessment and/or intervention.
  • Research supervision of Masters to completion and preferably PhD degrees to completion required.
  • Good to very good research track record.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Counselling Psychologist with at least 3 years of post-registration experience is a requirement.

Senior Lecturer
  • A PhD in Psychology or closely related field is normally required.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and post graduate levels required.
  • Experience in teaching, researching and/ or clinically supervising in the disciplinary areas of psychological assessment and/or intervention.
  • Research supervision of at least Masters' degrees to completion is preferable.
  • Good to satisfactory research track record.
  • For the post of Senior Lecturer, registration with the HPCSA as a Counselling Psychologist is a requirement, preferably with 3 years of post-registration experience.

Lecturer
  • At least a Masters' degree in Psychology, preferably with progress being made towards a PhD.
  • Tutoring or facilitation experience required.
  • No teaching experience is required.
  • Ability to teach and clinically supervise in the disciplinary areas of psychological assessment and/or intervention.
  • Satisfactory research record.
  • Candidates are required to have at least met all the academic requirements of an HPCSA-accredited Masters' degree in Counselling Psychology and have completed an accredited internship in Counselling Psychology and be eligible to write the HPCSA Board Examination in Counselling Psychology.

Professor Level:

Basic salary Pension/Provident fund: R732, 743 per annum

Approximate cost to company: R937, 650 per annum

Associate Professor Level:

Basic salary Pension/Provident fund: R623, 306 per annum

Approximate cost to company: R802, 254 per annum

Senior Lecturer Level:

Basic salary Pension/Provident fund: R523, 726 per annum:

Approximate cost to company: R679, 055 per annum

Lecturer level:

Basic salary Pension/Provident fund: R433, 689

Approximate cost to company: R567, 661
