Applications are invited for positions in the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. The school has a wide range of research and taught degree programmes at all level (UG, PG, MBA, PhD) in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Management. It currently has 120 academic staff and over 4,500 students, and is growing every year. This is an exciting opportunity to a fast growing ambitious business school which is AACSB/EQUIS accredited and located in the vibrant city of Suzhou surrounded by Fortune 500 companies and next door to Shanghai, one of the major financial centres in the world. In addition to AACSB/EQUIS accreditation, other successful accreditations within IBSS have been obtained, such as those from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and CPA Australia for BA Accounting programme and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for MSc Professional Accounting programme. BA Accounting programme at IBSS is the first undergraduate programme in China to have obtained both 9 ACCA exemptions and 12 CIMA exemptions. Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a unique collaborative institution, the first and currently the only university in China to offer both UK (University of Liverpool) and Chinese (Ministry of Education) accredited degrees.

Requirements

Successful applicants will have a PhD in accounting or finance, and/or be able to demonstrate appropriate professional experience. Successful applicants will have teaching experience and evidence of the ability or potential to produce high quality research publications. Applicants with professional experience and professional qualifications (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA/CFA/FRM and other equivalent qualifications), who are not currently active in research, will also be considered. Candidates for the position of Associate Professor should have a strong track record of excellence in teaching and academic supervision, as well as an international research profile in their field and/or a successful record of research funding. We strongly welcome applicants who are internationally renowned academics with a research interest in corporate governance, contemporary accounting issues, and corporate finance.

The salary range for the positions is 21,611 - 33,222 RMB/month (Lecturer), and 33,726 - 46,041 RMB/month (Associate Professor). In addition, members of academic staff are entitled to accommodation and travel allowances, medical insurance, and relocation expenses. Overseas staff may receive a tax holiday of up to three years, depending on nationality and personal circumstances. Applications should be submitted through our online HR system.
