Job Details

At Teesside University, we are ambitious in our goals, vision and aspirations. We challenge expectations and push the boundaries of what is possible. From transforming our campus through a £300m investment and capital development programme, to creating outstanding, innovative academic programmes, our work is always relevant and purpose-driven.

We believe that innovation powers our steps and are motivated to make a difference through positive social impact. We work in partnership with individuals and businesses to devise creative solutions not limited by imagination. We work at pace, and are always future-facing, with our teaching, learning and research focused on addressing the challenges of tomorrow, today. We do not stand still.

In this role you will contribute to teaching, research, knowledge exchange, enterprise and business engagement in the Department of Physiotherapy, Sports Rehabilitation, Dietetics and Leadership. You will be expected to deliver innovative, engaging and effective teaching through a range of delivery styles including distance learning and team based working. You will undertake Research and Scholarly activity, including the creation of novel ideas and concepts and will contribute to the University's income generation through enterprise, consultancy, and other business engagement activities.

You will have a First Degree in a relevant discipline/equivalent professional qualification, or have significant practical work experience. A PhD in a relevant discipline is also an essential requirement for this role. You must be willing to achieve a relevant Teaching Qualification, normally within two years of employment, such as PGCHE/Higher Education Academy (Associate Fellow/Senior Fellow) accreditation.

The Tees Valley is an enjoyable place to live - in the heart of the North of England's coastline and countryside, with easy access to Durham, Newcastle and York.

For an informal discussion please contact Simon Hood, Head of Department (Sports Science/ODP/Paramedic), S.Hood@tees.ac.uk
