Summary

The Reader in Midwifery is an exciting position that will significantly contribute to midwifery research within the School of Healthcare Sciences.

Working with the RCM Professor of Midwifery and the Professor of Clinical Nursing and Midwifery, the post-holder will contribute to and enhance the existing midwifery research programme and provide leadership and support for research activities in the School. There are also opportunities for involvement in the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Midwifery Development based in the School of Healthcare Sciences.

The post is a part-time, open-ended contract (0.65 FTE) with Cardiff University.

Applications are invited from candidates with a strong and dynamic research profile in the area of midwifery and maternity care research, which has direct relevance to improving care for women and babies. We are seeking an experienced research scholar, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate leadership and innovation.

The appointed person will be an innovative, clinical academic, a proven rising star, committed to delivering the highest quality research and education in midwifery.

All candidates must have current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and possess a PhD.

This is a part-time position of 22.75 hours per week (0.65 FTE).

Salary: £59,828 - £61,618 per annum, pro-rata for hours worked (Reader, Grade 8)
