Applications are invited for a part-time lectureship in Textiles within the thriving student and academic community of the School of Design at Edinburgh College of Art, the University of Edinburgh.

We are seeking candidates who will be a dynamic, creative and effective teacher and scholar, able to contribute leadership and communicate core skills on a range of courses across levels within the textiles programme. The post-holder will have extensive experience of a range of textiles techniques along with strong skills in CAD for textile production, and professional presentation and communication of design projects on a range of platforms. A clear track record of teaching experience in a studio environment is essential. In addition to teaching on established courses, the post-holder will have the opportunity to contribute to and develop appropriate courses pertaining to practical and contextual enquiry within the School of Design.

Evidence of some academic management experience including successful implementation of subject related initiatives, events and/or projects will be an advantage. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to innovative pedagogy and research in the School of Design and in the wider context of Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh, and in relation to the new Edinburgh Futures Institute.

Applicants must hold a PhD or have equivalent research experience. You should be able to identify at least one research output that could be returned to the UK's Research Exercise Framework (REF2021). Applicants should also be prepared to demonstrate their potential to attract and supervise doctoral students pursuing their research by both thesis and by creative practice routes.

The post is open-ended and part-time (28 hours per week).

Salary Scale: £40,792 to £48,677 per annum pro rata.
