Role: Environmental Consultant - Carbon Team

Team: EHS Compliance and Carbon Team

Location: Bristol

Salary: £Competitive + Benefits

Level: Consultant (1-3 years approximately)

My client is an international, world-leading and well-respected greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and reporting specialist, and one of the first UK consultancies to establish a dedicated Carbon Management team. They have supported numerous organisations often within highly sensitive industries, with services including corporate GHG reporting (both full assessment and validation/assurance support), along with specialist assessments such as product LCA's and construction carbon assessments.

We are now looking for an experienced Environmental Consultant to join their team. The position will be based within the EHS Compliance and Carbon Team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting senior consultants with work on a range of projects including carbon foot printing, Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), BREEAM, sustainability assessment, environmental management systems and audit projects;
  • Carrying out research into environmental, energy and sustainability issues, legislation and other topics.
  • Completing spreadsheets and calculations to support carbon foot printing, LCA and BREAM projects.
  • Writing detailed reports, feasibility studies, environmental reviews and environmental statements;
  • Assisting with production of proposals and tenders;
  • Working with regulators and liaising with clients;
  • Providing advice on environmental, energy and sustainability issues;
  • Supporting senior consultants with project administration and financial management;
  • Assisting with Group SHEQ management system tasks and administration; and contributing to the general running of the office, carrying out office administration tasks.
  • Occasional periods of working away from home at client sites (living expenses provided)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc degree level qualified in a relevant discipline;
  • Preferably MSc qualified in relevant subject;
  • Membership of IEMA;
  • 1-3 years previous experience working on consultancy projects;
  • Knowledge of UK EHS, Energy and Sustainability legislation;
  • Energy management experience an advantage (as this may form part of your career development)
