The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of Michigan is recruiting a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Professor of Pediatric Pulmonology with strong clinical and teaching skills. The rank of the selected candidate will depend upon candidate's qualifications.  Candidates must be BC/BE in Pediatric Pulmonology.

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology is currently comprised of ten board-certified pediatric pulmonologists (one of whom who is also board-certified in sleep) and four nurse practitioners.  The Division provides inpatient care for children at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor. In addition to caring for patients on the pediatric pulmonary service, the Division provides care for a 10-bed Stable Ventilator Unit and consult services to the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, pediatric cardiothoracic unit, subspecialty services and general pediatrics service. 

The Division is responsible for a busy outpatient practice that cares for patients with asthma, cystic fibrosis, BPD, chronic respiratory failure, primary ciliary dyskinesia, congenital lung abnormalities, neuromuscular and aerodigestive disorders, interstitial lung disease and other pulmonary illnesses.  Worthy of special mention are the Cystic Fibrosis Center, which cares for 263 children, the Home Ventilator Program, which cares for 213 patients receiving technology-assisted home care, and the Pediatric Asthma Wellness Program. In addition, we have a state-of- the-art pulmonary function laboratory, a full sleep lab and a very active bronchoscopy service.  The Division also staffs clinics in Northville, Brighton, Ypsilanti, Flint, Grand Rapids and Mt, Pleasant.  Candidates will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows and quality improvement.  Participation in research, including CF clinical trials, is also supported.  Pediatric pulmonologists with experience in sleep disorders are encouraged to apply.

The new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital opened in 2011.  The 1.1 million square foot hospital includes a 9-story outpatient wing and a 12-story inpatient wing with 298 beds, including 48 private NICU rooms, 45 pediatric intensive care and cardiothoracic unit beds, 16 operating rooms, and two interventional radiology rooms. C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan Health System is nationally recognized for excellence in clinical services, research, and education. C.S. Mott is nationally ranked in all of the evaluated categories including cardiology and heart surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, nephrology, orthopedics, gastroenterology and GI surgery, cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, neonatology, pulmonology and urology.
