Global Engagement & Entrepreneurship

Global Engagement and Entrepreneurship (GE&E), led by the Director (GE&E), is responsible for leading a number of The University of Queensland's strategic business development activities with potential partners. In particular, the division leads and oversees the implementation of the University's strategy to develop specific partnerships with universities, government, research and industry bodies, both in Australia and around the world. Stewardship of the University's stakeholders is a key enabler for the University's future success, and this area will be pivotal in ensuring that early stage partnerships are developed to a level of maturity and quality required to then be handed over to other parts of the University for continuity and implementation. The division works very closely with all portfolios to ensure partnerships are nurtured and expectations managed. This office has also been responsible for developing the UQ Entrepreneurship Strategy and manages the strategy implementation across the institution under the Ventures brand. Building entrepreneurship mentor and partner networks to support Ventures activities, and identifying student engagement opportunities are an important part of this office.

About This Opportunity

Collaborating with senior level staff at the University, the Industry Engagement Manager will be a key player in driving the University's Partnership Engagement Strategy. By identifying the day-to-day development, management and maintenance of corporate partnerships, the successful candidate will deliver on a range of identified outcomes with the aim of delivering a high level of return on investment.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus , renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment - you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

You'll be well versed in functional management in business development, with appropriate qualifications (or equivalent) to back up your experience. An ability to build highly effective professional relationships whilst working with diverse stakeholders in a variety of industries is key, plus demonstrated experience in preparing corporate correspondence in a variety of formats, all in support of strategic partner engagement. Your leadership style will be positive, constructive and collaborative.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed position at HEW level 9.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $113,095 - $119,678, plus super of up to 17% and recreation leave loading of 17.5%.
