As part of the regular / continuous flow project Technological Trajectories: study on innovation structures for biodefensives in the State of São Paulo (2018 / 25310-6), there is the opportunity for two Technical Training Scholarships (Level 3) funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). The selected candidates will work in São Paulo city, Brazil under coordination of Professor and investigator Renata Martins Sampaio.

The project aims to characterize the technological development and market of biodefensives in the State of São Paulo, through the theoretical and conceptual discussion about paradigms, trajectories and technological regimes, the analysis of the insertion of biodefensives in the universe of phytosanitary production and commercialization, while exploring knowledge transfer mechanisms.

Job specific activities
  • Collect, organize and evaluate information on the marketing of pesticides and related products provided by official agencies;
  • Identify the participation of biodefensives and build quantitative indicators;
  • Describe the dynamics of the biodefensives market and its interaction with the regulation mechanisms of these products.

Activities specific to job 2
  • Characterize the evolution of biological control in Brazil;
  • Identify the conditions of insertion of research activities in biological control at the Biological Institute of São Paulo State's Department for Agriculture and Supply;
  • Analyze the formatting and development of the Program for Innovation and Transferring of Technology on Biological Control (PROBIO), implemented by the Biological Institute.

The scholarships will last 12 months, renewable for up to 12 months, depending on the performance of the grantee, which will be evaluated annually according to FAPESP rules.

Requirements for the candidate
  • i) Degree in Agronomic Engineering, Biology and Environmental Management or similar, with no failures in the transcript;
  • ii) Not having employment and availability of project dedication of 40 hours per week;
  • iii) Knowledge and skill in collecting and organizing information and processing in spreadsheet and text software;
  • iv) Ability to work as a team and to interact with different audiences (fieldwork for job candidate 2);
  • v) Willingness to start training immediately upon approval of the process by FAPESP.

Selective process
  1. Evaluation of the candidates profile through the analysis of the documents sent.
  2. Interviews with candidates (in person or by video conference).

The result will be published by email at the end of the selection process.
