Job Details
We are appointing a full-time Administration Assistant in the School of Economics, Finance and Management (EFM) to provide a professional, efficient and effective reception service for Howard House. From August 2020 there will be three separate schools: School of Accounting and Finance, School of Economics, and School of Management. The successful applicant will work in Management from August 2020.
The Administrative Assistant acts as the first point of contact for the majority of staff from across the University, external contacts and visitors. It is very important to ensure that those visiting the School are made to feel welcome and that their queries have been addressed to a high standard by exhibiting tact, discretion, maintaining confidentiality as required and demonstrating a steady hand regardless of the volume of work. Independence and initiative will be required to react to changing priorities and work circumstances, with scope to make decisions within very clear parameters. The role holder will organise their own day-to-day work to meet clear objectives providing an effective service to others.
You should possess a high level of accuracy and flexibility, as well as excellent organisational and customer service skills, as these are all essential attributes for the role. You should be a good team player and have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of colleagues on a daily basis. In addition, you should be experienced in using a range of IT systems and be able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 25th August 2019 with interviews expected to be held w/c 2 September 2019.
