About This Opportunity

The Marketing and Publicity Manager leads a small and dynamic team to maximise the media exposure, discoverability and profile of The University of Queensland Press (UQP) books and authors across new and backlist titles to maximise sales.

The Marketing and Publicity Manager is a key position at UQP and joins our leadership team. The successful candidate will be directly engaged with marketing and publicity campaigns, digital media and events. They will bring to the position a deep understanding and knowledge of national media, current trends in publicity and marketing to enhance book campaigns, and oversee the marketing budget and implementation of UQP's digital strategy. The successful candidate is also responsible for producing general UQP marketing plans and managing our brand engagement with external parties.

The Marketing and Publicity Manager will play a pivotal role in representing UQP at industry events and developing key relationships with UQP stakeholders, including authors, agents, booksellers and relevant UQ departments.

This position is located at the University's Long Pocket Campus in Indooroopilly.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate for the Marketing and Publicity Manager role will be commercially astute in marketing, publicity and communications. They will be able to demonstrate their experience delivering impactful marketing and publicity outcomes and have an understanding of how to balance creativity, strategy and analytics to achieve outstanding results. A track record developing and managing relationships with media, authors, agents, booksellers and other key stakeholders will be highly regarded, plus demonstrated skills and knowledge in designing effective marketing campaigns. Proven experience managing high-performance teams in a publishing industry or arts-related environment is desirable.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time continuing position at HEW level 8.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,466 - $108,318, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $112,865 - $126,732.
