Supervising Social Worker
An established and well regarded fostering provider is looking for an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join their North East based team.
This is a well established organisation, accompanied by supportive and friendly Management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities involved:
- Participation in foster carer recruitment campaigns
- Screening of prospective foster carers
- Training and preparation of prospective foster carers
- Assess prospective foster carers
- Support and supervise foster carers through regular visits and telephone contact, completing necessary documentation as required
- Help to run a foster carers' support group and workshops
- Take part in an out-of-hours 'on call' system
- Identify, in conjunction with foster carers, their training and developmental needs
- Attend statutory reviews, case conferences, strategy meetings, planning meetings etc. on children
- Preparing and presenting written and verbal reports on children and foster carers
- Liaise with local authority social workers, including providing advice on fostering and adoption matters.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of best practice issues and developments for looked after children and young people.
- Promote high professional standards within every part of the service
- Contribute Team Fostering commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, including the delivery of education specific training.
- Contribute to own professional development by taking part in supervision, team days, training, appraisal, etc. and maintaining a record of evidence to support professional registration i.e. HCPC
- Undertake any additional duties that their Line Manager considers appropriate for the position.
