Opportunity
The University seeks an appointment to the position of the Apex Australia Chair in Neurodevelopment and Disability.

This is an exceptional opportunity to provide academic leadership in education, teaching, research and clinical care within the University and the Royal Children's Hospital and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. 

With expertise in the field of Neurodevelopment and Disability, the Apex Australia Chair will place particular emphasis on research, training, implementation and evaluation of interventions to improve the lives of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. The Apex Australia Chair will be expected to make major contributions in the areas of research, academic leadership and professional development, and contribute to the Department’s governance.

About you
You will possess:

  • A clinical qualification registrable with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Board (AHPRA)
  • An internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in academia and research in the field of Neurodevelopment and Disability making a significant contribution to the advancement of the discipline
  • Ability to identify and exploit new opportunities in education, research and the provision of services to the benefit of the Department of Paediatrics and the Royal Children’s Hospital
  • Demonstrated leadership in research, scholarship, education and clinical care in paediatrics
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, with excellence in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) at all times
